With the dedication, love of Cleveland and passion for showcasing everything the city we love has to offer, we deliver over 50+ events and opportunities a year to the young professional and business community.

Ashley Basile Oeken  President

President

Ashley Basile Oeken is an experienced leader with over ten years of experience in the nonprofit field. Her expertise is focused on the next generation and young professionals.

Ashley is the organization's Founding Executive Director having been hired in 2012. In her role at Engage! Cleveland, Ashley oversees all aspects of the organization while driving strategic initiatives to increase the impact Engage! Cleveland can have on the community and young professionals. She consults with employers and nonprofits to attract, engage and retain the best and brightest talent.

Ashley is very involved in the civic community in Cleveland serving on a variety of committees and Boards. Most notably, Ashley serves on Board of Trustees at the Saint Luke’s Foundation where she additionally serves as Chair of the Governance Committee. In addition, Ashley has received many honors and recognition for her work in the Cleveland area.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Youngstown State University. Additionally, Ashley is a graduate of the LEADdiversity Class of 2015, PRADCO’s Women in Leadership Class of 2013, Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2012, and the Spring 2009 Civic Leadership Institute.


Megan Baechle  Programs Assistant

Programs Assistant

Megan Baechle has served as the part time Programs Assistant since October 2018. Megan comes to E!C with nearly 10 years of experience in operations management, executive support and event planning. For the past four years, she has also served as the Executive Director for the Berea Chamber of Commerce and brings her experience working in the nonprofit sector to her role with Engage! Cleveland.

 As the Programs Assistant, Megan supports various areas of E!C’s mission including membership, development and programming. Working with local businesses to enhance their footprint here in the greater Cleveland area is a personal passion for her. She thrives on finding creative ways to engage local businesses and believes in the power of networking. Megan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communication from Ohio University.


Cheyenne Meek  Marketing & Events Assistant

Cheyenne Meek

Marketing & Events Assistant

Cheyenne Meek currently serves as the organization’s Marketing & Events Assistant after finishing her internship with Engage! Cleveland this spring. Her background consists of experience in marketing, program management and volunteer engagement from her previous roles in higher education, athletics and nonprofit settings.

Cheyenne recently graduated with her Master of Public Administration degree from The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs in May 2019. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications and a minor in professional writing from OSU. Cheyenne was a four-year scholar-athlete for the Women’s Varsity Swimming Team, qualifying for the USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials in 2016, one of 19 presidential hosts for the university’s president, Dr. Michael V. Drake, the top student in her undergraduate program, receiving the School of Communications’ Outstanding Senior Award, and the recipient of the J. Parker and Kathryn Webb Dinius Fellowship awarded to an OSU student-athlete pursuing graduate studies at the university.

As the Marketing & Events Assistant at Engage! Cleveland, Cheyenne manages E!C’s social media, supports event planning and assists with a variety of marketing initiatives. A native of Port Clinton, Ohio, Cheyenne is excited to learn everything she can about Cleveland and help the members of its incredible young professional community find success and meaning in their city.


Jane Medoro  Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant

Jane Medoro is currently serving as an Administrative Assistant for Engage! Cleveland. She is a Northeast Ohio native from Westlake and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Professional Writing, Literature, and a minor in marketing. While in school, Jane was heavily involved as a student organizer and in her senior year, she was awarded the Senior Service Leadership Award for Services to Campus Life.

When she's not at Engage! Cleveland, she teaches swimming, involves herself in Cleveland's amazing theatre scene and enjoys discovering all that the city has to offer.

Carolyn Skubon is currently a student at Tri-C majoring in marketing. She was born and raised in Northeast Ohio, and after spending several years on the east coast, returned to her hometown of Brunswick in 2013. She spent the next 5 years running a gym and discovered a love for social media content creation and event planning. Carolyn is excited to intern at E!C because it will allow her to learn and grow in these interests as well as give her the opportunity to share her love of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio with fellow young professionals.


Lisa Fuentes  Accountant

Lisa Fuentes

Accountant

Lisa Fuentes is a part-time accountant with Engage! Cleveland where she oversees our financials. She handles day-to-day functions, reporting and working with our auditors. Lisa has over 25 years of experience and is a sole proprietor working with many nonprofit clients. Lisa is a native Clevelander and graduate of the Cleveland Public Schools system.

 

 

Christine Kohls is our part-time Development Consultant. She spends her time sharing our mission and bringing on new employer members. In addition, she supports fundraising efforts around event sponsorships and through grant writing. Christine is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) whose 18 years of experience includes leadership positions in healthcare, higher education, social service, and arts and culture organizations.
