MORTGAGE ORIGINATION TRAINER

BRECKSVILLE, OHIO

Position Overview:

The Mortgage Origination Trainer develops and conducts a variety of new hire and ongoing training classes, including, but not limited to: CCM best practices; Salesforce; EDGE reporting; Loanbeam; mortgage lending; product specific information; lock desk policy; loan closing and post-closing fundamentals; compliance, TRID and RESPA fundamentals; navigating and entering loans into Encompass and all applicable systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback to managers regarding the effectiveness and success of the various training programs
  • Develop mortgage curriculum and job aids for required use by all CrossCountry Mortgage, Inc. (“CCM”) employees to train and reinforce mortgage specific origination and compliance knowledge
  • Develop and conduct training sessions related to the implementation of new software applications, procedures, products, and compliance requirements
  • Develop and conduct training sessions related to department cross-training
  • Conduct web-based trainings and travel to branches as required
  • Maintain process and procedure documentation as it pertains to the training material required for the primary mortgage loan origination system
  • Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of training and individual employee results, job performance concerns, and future learning plans
  • Coordinate training meetings and events
  • Improve training methods and skills; finds and incorporates improved training methods
  • Respond to daily affiliate inquiries and assist with resolution of production problems
  • Assist others and serves as a back-up various departments as needed
  • Complete annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of mortgage industry experience required
  • A minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in a training role preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Public speaking skills and at ease moderating large groups
  • Learning agile with analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency, visual graphics design ability
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and comfortable relationships with employees, supervisors, and senior management
  • Ability to articulate performance outcomes objectively for trainees and managers
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Must be available to travel when needed to affiliate locations as necessary, including out-of-state
  • Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and listening skills
