Position Summary

JumpStart’s IT group provides its clients services from day-to-day support up to strategic IT leadership, building connectivity between people and business processes in an environment of ever-changing requirements.

This position will participate in the creation, design, implementation and maintenance of data systems, especially Salesforce.com. This person will maintain and use MS SQL, SSRS, Salesforce.com’s reporting tools, and potentially other products (i.e. PowerBI) to provide accurate reports and reporting capabilities to the organization. The position will include writing system specification use cases, developing project plans, implementing projects, and providing QA on systems developed from those specifications that are built on Salesforce.com and other platforms to collect and maintain data.

The person in this role will be part of a team that includes others with skills in writing and maintaining reports, Salesforce.com administrators, process improvement experts, business analysts, data analysts, and consultants. The IT team includes people with a variety of skills and experiences and our goal is to align each person’s abilities with the work that JumpStart needs completed. The projects and tools which this role will develop, support and maintain over time will shift with the needs of the organization. The goal of this position is to help JumpStart maximize the benefits of the variety of systems used to make decisions to improve operations and to efficiently and effectively report results.

We are seeking a multi-faceted individual to be part of a dynamic team that is looking for diversity in their day-to-day responsibilities and tasks. Owning the reporting needs of JumpStart is a key responsibility of this position and requires the role to think and work strategically to improve our databases and tools. The operations of JumpStart are constantly changing, and this role will help in documenting business needs, documenting system specifications, implementing changes, and leading quality assurance of what is built.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage Database Change Projects

Provide design expertise on implementing business processes into database designs.

Design, manage and implement projects that will involve changes to data structures, SQL views and stored procedures, reports and dashboards, and the end user experience. Projects will be driven by changes in our operations (process improvements, new programs, new grants, etc.) which change our business processes which in turn will impact the system.

Build and maintain relationships with staff across the organization to ensure a positive implementation for all impacted.

Communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization from senior management to interns.

  • Database Design and Maintenance

Design and implement a scalable and sustainable database infrastructure (SQL views and stored procedures, data warehouse, or otherwise) that can be used for multiple reporting platforms (SSRS, PowerBI).

Maintain connection of SQL database to JumpStart’s CRM (Salesforce) and other systems, where appropriate.

  • Reporting

Design and maintain reports using SSRS, PowerBI and potentially other tools to support our needs of grant reporting, organizational goal tracking, and other reporting needs of the organization.

Collaborate with IT staff and data team to generate reports and dashboards using SSRS, PowerBI, and other appropriate reporting tools.

Responsible for the quality of all JumpStart reports and reporting tools.

Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Travel is expected to be only within Northeast Ohio except for occasional out of town meetings or potential conference/educational events. Some work on nights and weekends will be required to meet project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Education, Training and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

10+ years’ experience in report and SQL database/system design and implementation work

10+ years’ experience in CRM/ERP/complex systems management, implementation and programming

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to write and maintain complex SQL statements

Build and maintain based reports using SSRS, MS SQL Manager, Visual Studio, Crystal Reports, PowerBI and another similar reporting tools.

Experience administering and configuring for Salesforce or another modern CRM/ERP system.

High understanding of data structures and data modeling and how those decisions impact business needs and use experiences.

The ability to translate business needs into system solutions.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of management to ensure the successful completion of projects on deadline.

Detail-minded and able to perform all tasks necessary to complete projects with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to manage simultaneous projects and priorities among projects.

Willingness to take on new languages and products and through documentation and research, learn how to implement and support those languages and products.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • Education, Training and/or Experience

MBA or equivalent business experience

Experience with Salesforce.com administration, Apex and VisualForce code

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Certifications in SQL systems

Proficiency in any programming languages with emphasis on Java, Javascript, .net (VisualBasic, C#, etc.) and preferably Apex (Salesforce.com proprietary language).

One or more Salesforce administrator/developer certification(s)
