Human Resources Specialist - Providence House

Position Summary

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for understanding, supporting and improving the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, payroll and benefits management, and employee engagement. The successful candidate excels at prioritizing the needs of the organization and relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate full cycle recruiting efforts: source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, reference and background check, and track applications

Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements and conducts I-9 audits periodically.

Coordinates new hire onboarding process and assists in coordinating employee development opportunities.

Responsible for the administration of payroll, time and attendance and payroll tax issues using ADP.

Coordinates employee engagement programming and team events to promote a positive and supportive workplace culture.

Serves as a department liaison handling HR related questions, interpreting and explaining human resources policies, and helping resolve employee relations issues as necessary.

Assists in benefits administration, vendor management, and communications regarding company benefits.

Strives to be culturally competent and supportive of diversity in both service to team members and external clients.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required

SHRM or PHR certification preferred

1-3 years of experience in human resources preferred

Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience using HRIS systems

Detail-oriented and demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities

Demonstrates high integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company data

Must be 21 years of age

Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license

Position Type

This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical hours of work are Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm with occasional weekend and evening responsibilities as needed.
