Finance Director - Providence House

Position Summary

The Finance Director will help guide the financial vision and strategy of the organization by fostering innovation and prioritizing financial initiatives. The successful candidate excels at prioritizing the needs of the organization and relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides financial leadership and support for all departments to ensure consistency within the business framework of the organization.

Manages strategic financial projects, including but not limited to LLC structures and capital campaigns, in collaboration with the contract CFO and CEO.

Prepares financial reports, presentations and materials for the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees meetings.

Remain up-to-date on best practices in nonprofit finance, business systems and internal control measures to increase operational efficiency and innovation and ensure compliance within the department.

Collaborates with departments to manage annual budgeting process. Tracks actual performance to budget and performs ongoing variance analysis for reforecasting purposes.

Works with the contract CFO on treasury management activities, particularly cash flow management and investment management.

Assist with vendor management by negotiating new vendor contracts and working with the contract CFO and related vendors on financing for facility acquisitions and improvements.

Remains up-to-date on best practices in nonprofit finance, business systems and internal control measures, to increase operational efficiency and innovation and ensure compliance within the department.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field required, MBA or Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in financial position; non-profit financial experience a plus.

Minimum of 3+ years as Finance Director or finance lead

Advanced proficiency in database software programs, and various accounting software programs. Experience with Financial Edge a plus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
