Senior Staff Accountant - CrossCountry Mortgage
The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and will accurately prepare accounting records and review overall performance. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the accounting records are accurate. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate will be able to think critically and will have strong analytical skills.
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information
Perform GL and account reconciliation and analysis
Auditing and verifying documents
Fixed asset processing and reporting
Follow internal controls
Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis
Assist in the monthly close process
Complete month-end activities and create journal entries
Coordinate organizational data to provide financial results; combining and consolidating details
Accounting degree and at least 4 years’ experience
MBA or CPA certification preferred
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial controls
Ability to thrive in a challenging, demanding, and rapidly growing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel and aptitude to learn new software
Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, and analytical skills
Extremely detail oriented
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Experience working independently as well as in a team environment
