Engage! Cleveland is a community engagement organization for young professionals and business/community leaders who are passionate about making Cleveland a lasting home for the next generation. Our goal is to attract, engage and retain young, diverse talent to Greater Cleveland by connecting young professionals to people, jobs, organizations and events.

Our Visual Communication Intern will learn about Cleveland’s young professional community, employers and civic engagement in great detail while gaining experience in promoting our mission and events visually.


Administrative, General, Graphic Design, Marketing/Communications


This internship requires a minimum of 10-15 hours per week. Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm


This is an unpaid internship but can qualify for academic credit.


The successful applicant will:

  • Provide design support to our staff and Marketing Committee

  • Produce visuals to promote our signature programs and events

  • Leverage multiple platforms to visually promote our mission and opportunities

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and marketing committee meetings


The successful applicant must:

  • Be in the process of earning a Bachelor’s or advanced degree, preferably in visual communication design, communications, marketing, business or a related field

  • Have the ability to develop new ideas and independently take direction on projects with guidance of supervisor

  • Successfully communicate and offer suggestions to further EC’s brand through visual platforms

  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills

  • Possess outstanding time management skills, organizational skills and a great attention to detail

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently

  • Have experience with nonprofits or be willing to learn

  • Have a strong passion for Cleveland and Engage! Cleveland’s mission
