Young Nonprofit Professionals Network

YNPN logo The Cleveland chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) was established in 2009, the work of a small group of area young professionals dedicated to supporting and improving Cleveland’s nonprofit community.  YNPN strives to connect and cultivate future leaders in the nonprofit community by engaging young professionals, supporting career development, and offering networking opportunities.  YNPN Cleveland has an informal, dues-free membership structure. Its membership base includes over 1200 individuals who are involved either as email subscribers, event attendees, or online “friends”. The majority of YNPN’s active participants are between their 20s and 30s and encompass a wide spectrum of Greater Cleveland nonprofit organizations. Other sectors have representation, as well. These individuals all share a commitment to improving Cleveland’s nonprofit community.

Keen to share knowledge between industry leaders and YNPN members, YNPN initiated its Mentor Program in 2011.  For both mentors and mentees, the Mentor Program provides an opportunity to make important connections in their field. The program also offers young workers and students an exclusive opportunity to meet an industry leader who can share valuable insight and allows experienced professionals the opportunity to contribute directly to the preparation of next generation nonprofit leaders in Cleveland. The Mentor Program has received wonderful feedback to date, thus YNPN is pleased to announce that the Mentor Program will commence its third year in fall of 2013.

YNPN has many ways for Clevelanders to get involved. The best way, however, is to become a YNPN Cleveland Ambassador.  Ambassadors contribute to chapter growth and success.  Ambassadors are encouraged to attend all YNPN Cleveland meetings and events. Anyone can become an YNPN Cleveland Ambassador, and some Ambassadors will go on to become YNPN Cleveland board members.
