Meet E!C's Board of Directors: Evan Ishida
Name: Evan Ishida Current company and position: Co-Founder, Knowledge Post
Education/background: I attended Ohio University for both my undergraduate and graduate studies.
How long have you lived in Cleveland? Almost 8 years.
Why did you choose to be on the E!C board of directors? As a transplant from Columbus, I was unaware of the diverse offerings available in Cleveland. After successfully connecting through volunteer opportunities, it became my civic vision to make it much easier for young professionals to connect in a meaningful way.
What do you see E!C looking like/what will E!Cs role in CLE be in the future? E!C will be an engine of connectivity and collaboration between YPs, YP Organizations, Employers, and Nonprofit organizations. Through the work of E!C YPs will easily find YP opportunities to help them unleash their civic potential and build the relationships that will keep them in Greater Cleveland. E!C will help YP organizations access best practices, identify collaboration opportunities, and build their future leaders, to create a source of new ideas and innovation. Employers and nonprofits will be able to better understand the YP demographic in Greater Cleveland which can help them attract, retain, an grow their talent.
What opportunities and challenges does E!C face? We have big ideas, and big goals. We need to find ways of being creative in doing big things with few resources.
What is your top tip for young professionals in Cleveland? Go see, try, and experiment. Find an activity, event, organization, etc. and show up. Ask questions, talk to folks, and learn about the things going on and how you can help.
