Introducing E!C's Board of Directors: Kim Pesses

How long have you lived in Cleveland? With the exception of 6 years, my whole life.
Why did you choose to be on the E!C board of directors? Cleveland needs to have a diverse, vibrant and engaged young professional community - engaged with each other and with the broader community. I want my kids and their peers to be excited to live here and understand what a wealth of riches exist here. I want people to pick Cleveland over other areas.
What do you see E!C looking like in the future? I hope that E!C will truly become a clearinghouse for all things "YP" and that it will be the "go-to" organization for YPs and the businesses and community organizations who want to be involved in any way with YPs. I hope that E!C will be so successful that YPs considering moving to Cleveland, or deciding whether or not they should stay in Cleveland, will know that there is a strong and well-organized YP community that will help them in their transition to a vibrant, cool, fun, and successful life in NEO.
What is your top tip for young professionals in Cleveland? Immerse yourselves in the community, get involved, volunteer, etc. You will be rewarded greatly by meeting people you probably would not have met otherwise, broadening your circles, and opening doors. Don't sit back and wait to be asked - if you want to get involved, it's easy in Cleveland to seek it out.
What is your favorite thing about Cleveland? The wealth of activities that are so easily accessible, the people, and the ease with which you can become involved civically - I know that's not one thing, but I couldn't pick just one!
