Even if you’re a super fan of the Cleveland Browns, you may not be as familiar with the team’s mission off the field. In addition to consistently winning football games, the Browns also strive to take great care of their fans and to give back to Northeast Ohio.

Through Browns Give Back, the Cleveland Browns are committed to improving the Northeast Ohio community with specific focuses on education, youth football and volunteerism via the team’s signature First and Ten volunteer movement.  In addition to the involvement of players and coaches, the Browns provide many fun and meaningful volunteer opportunities for staff to contribute to the city.  The Browns recently hosted a company-wide community day at the facility in which all staff participated in collaborative projects during normal work hours that benefited numerous groups, including the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

The Cleveland Browns organization currently has a diverse staff of around 240 full-time employees, and up to 75 interns during peak training camp season.  The organization greatly values feedback and ideas from all of its employees, and conducts an annual culture survey to gauge how it’s doing.  Young professionals comprise a significant portion of the Browns staff, and the company appreciates their unique perspectives and insights.  Research has shown that millennials value experiences over “things,” and the Cleveland Browns, at its core, is an experience company.  The Browns are constantly looking to grow its younger fan-base while also striving to continue to take great care of its longer-tenured supporters.

While everyone at the Browns works hard to further the organization’s mission, being a member of the team is not without its perks.  Browns games at FirstEnergy Stadium are especially fun, and employees also enjoy many other unique aspects of working for the Browns.  The company’s corporate office is at the team’s state-of-the art training facility in Berea, complete with an on-site 4,600 sq.-ft. staff fitness room.  The Browns recently added a full-time Wellness Manager who works with employees to develop personal training plans customized for their fitness goals.

The company also supports various intramural sports for employees including flag football, basketball, kickball and softball, along with fitness classes, nutrition coaching and a fresh, mobile farmers market that comes onsite weekly.  The Browns even have an employee happiness committee that programs various events throughout the year including bus trips to road games, themed food truck days and ping pong tournaments.

The Browns also offer fantastic benefits to employees, as the company’s health and retirement benefits are extremely competitive.  Proessional development is a major priority for the Browns – employees are encouraged to take advantage of various training sessions that the company offers, and many of the team’s full-time staff members began their careers as interns.

The Browns recently expanded its family by adding Moose, a three-year-old chocolate lab who lives at the training facility and frequently roams the offices in search of treats.  Not surprisingly, Moose has been perhaps the most popular hire in the company’s history.
