How long have you lived in Cleveland?: Transplant-grew up in another city then decided to move to Cleveland.
Why did you choose to serve on an Engage! Cleveland committee?: I had done a lot of volunteer activities for Engage in the past, such as the spring mix, beer fest, and YP networking workshop, but felt like I could do more. Helping to plan a large event seemed fun and a great way to be more involved as well as help the community.
What do you see as Engage! Cleveland's role in the future?: I believe Engage will become the organization that all young professionals look to when they first start their search for organizations to become involved in.
What is your best piece of advice for young professionals in Cleveland?: My advice is to embrace all of the change that the city is going through and to get involved in any way you can. Feeling like you are part of that change is a really powerful thing and definitely makes you feel more connected to the city, even if you just moved here or have lived here your whole life.
What is your favorite thing about Cleveland?: Quality of life, culture, the people, the food, and entertainment.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself. I grew up in Mars, a small town in PA outside Pittsburgh.
What else should we know about you?: I love meeting new people and experiencing new things. Life is too short to be scared of being pushed out of your comfort zone so even if it is hard at times, embrace it. I've tried to do that while staying positive and it has not only helped me get through challenging times but has shaped my whole perspective on life.
