E!C’s Rising Star: Candice Kinn
By Samantha Wright Candice is a Cleveland transplant, having moved to Cleveland 12 years ago to attend Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs for her Master’s degree. Prior to that Candice grew up in the small town of Findlay, Ohio, where her graduating class only had 46 students!
Now a Manager at Deloitte Consulting LLP, Candice loves that she is part of an up and coming city, and she gets to be part of the upfront action, helping pave the way for the future. To help pave the way for future generations, Candice is involved with both the Cleveland Leadership Center and Minds Matter of Cleveland.
If Candice could change one thing about the city it would be individual attitudes towards the city, especially when people are negative towards Cleveland’s sports teams. Even though Candice is a big sports fan, who loves attending sporting events in Cleveland, at the end of the day she believes that people make a city, not just sports. “Sports are just another avenue for people to come together to enjoy what they have and what they love doing. Although winning is always a good thing.”
In addition to Candice's love for Cleveland’s sports, she also enjoys many of Cleveland’s music venues, especially Blossom. Candice has had a chance to see some of her favorite artists, like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, at FirstEnergy Stadium and enjoys the fantastic show that the Trans Siberian Orchestra puts on every year at the Quicken Loans Arena. Being a Cleveland transplant, Candice also notices the great improvements that are being made to CLE, including the revival of the House of Blues, “I used to walk by this building every day for 2 years on my way to work. It was old and run down and quite frankly intimidating at times, but look at it now! I love the fact that someone saw the potential and made it what it is today.”
