E!C Rising Star: LaToya Smith

Toya Head ShotThis month’s Rising Star is LaToya Smith. She is currently the Assistant Vice President and Talent Acquisition Consultant Team Lead at Fifth Third Bank. As a born and raised Clevelander, LaToya could not be happier to be building a career in her hometown.  “What I really love about being a young professional in Cleveland is that I have the opportunity to make a contribution and a difference in the community in which I live and work. Whatever I want to do, [I] have the opportunity and support of my company and my family to be able to give back.”

LaToya believes that Clevelanders are interested in joining different groups, boards and other community activities to make the city a better place to live. “There are a lot of opportunities for young professionals in Cleveland due to a skills gap. We need young professionals to stay in Cleveland and use their talents in their hometown.”

Latoya believes that there’s a noticeable opportunity for growth and expansion and that young professionals can be at the forefront of those opportunities. In her opinion, Cleveland is a safe place to explore and expand one’s talents.
