A Reflection on the First 30 Days

A Reflection on the First 30 Days

I was counting down the days until February 1st – my first day as Program Coordinator at Engage! Cleveland. I couldn’t wait to be a part of this amazing organization, and begin to help make this great city of ours even greater. And now that I’ve been here a month already (time flies!), I can say it’s one of the best career decisions I’ve made.

I’ve been wanting to work for a Cleveland-centered organization since I graduated college, so I’m very grateful for this opportunity. I’m ecstatic to be a part of the EC family and its dedicated mission of making this city amazing through the talent of young professionals, like me.

This month has been a whirlwind, and as with any new job, it’s been filled with lots of “firsts” – learning curves, adjustments, a new work environment and commute – but reflecting on it now, I realize how quickly I’ve gotten comfortable with everything. The routine is finally settling into place and I’m getting my bearings.

I’m excited to dive mAquarium-(lo-res)ore in-depth into EC, its programs and my position. I’m also eager to get to know all of the Board and Commitee members, whom I’ve heard such impressive things about. Their knowledge and expertise is vast and I welcome it to excel in this position and help Engage! grow.

I’m also looking forward to being a part of the 3rd annual Cleveland YP Week. From morning workouts to mid-day lunch and learns to evening activities, there will be so much to partake in, and I can’t wait to see our city vibrant and full of enthusiastic YPs!

Now that you all know a little bit about me, I’d like to get to know all of you! Shoot me an email at melanie@engagecleveland.com. I’d love to hear from you, and I look forward to meeting you at upcoming events!
