Business Spotlight: Shape

Cleveland is a city that is home to dreamers, doers, and creators - and Shape is a home for all of that. Shape is an educational nonprofit that operates as a professional photo and video production house. We are made up of a team of high school and college interns who work alongside our educational support staff of industry professionals, to create content for businesses and nonprofits in Cleveland.

Shape knows the value of hands-on education, particularly in the arts fields. We recognized that there were numerous barriers in place that prevent young people from entering the field, and we want to combat that process. Cleveland is a growing film city, and needs a growing workforce to go along with it. We are working to train the next generation of film and photography professionals in Cleveland, and we’re doing that by providing students with hands-on experience that will not only benefit them, but benefits local businesses and nonprofits as well.

Since launching 2 years ago, we have worked with local businesses and nonprofits such as The Cleveland Flea, Cleveland Clinic, Engage Cleveland, Kids Book Bank, Fount, the City of Kent, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and numerous others. On every project, our students have been involved every step of the way, from pre-production planning to filming, editing and much more! These students are working and learning alongside professionals in the industry, and getting first-hand knowledge of how they can grow their careers.

Shape is dedicated to helping nonprofits and businesses use marketing content and storytelling to solve problems they are facing. Whether it be a video for your website, social media content, television commercials and anything in between, our staff and students are willing to help in anyway possible. If you’re looking for content for your project or just want to help us ‘Shape’ Cleveland together, please email us at hello@shapewithus.org with questions or inquiries.
