Introducing the newest addition to our team, Megan Baechle.
My name is Megan Baechle (pronounced like Beckley) and I am the newest addition to the Engage! Cleveland team. I came on board in early October as the part time Programs Assistant. Some of the main areas I’ll be focused on here at EC include the planning and implementation of our plethora of events, helping to develop and enhance relationships with our employer members, and working on our development efforts.
I’ve spent the last ten years working in event planning, executive support, operations, and most recently, nonprofit management. In addition to my role at EC, I serve as the Executive Director for the Berea Chamber of Commerce where I’ve been since 2015. As a lifelong Berea resident, I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to work so closely with business owners and professionals from my hometown to help them grow and cultivate their businesses. When I learned about the opportunity with EC, I knew it would be a great chance for me to take on a role that continued to support my passion for working with local businesses and helping professionals connect with each other. I am a true believer in the power of networking and have had firsthand experience in seeing how it can help a young professional grow, enhance, and enrich their career.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, Jake, our 3 month old daughter, Bellamy, and our two rescue dogs, Farley and Caesar. My husband and I love to travel and have made a plan to see all 50 states together. So far, we’ve made it to 10 states and 3 different countries in 5 years.
My educational background is in Organizational Communication, and I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in 2010. The highlight of my college career was the summer I spent studying abroad in Peru, learning about the history of Incan culture. I think it’s so important to take the time to learn about different cultures and visit other places than those you’ve always known. It will always be an eye opening experience that is sure to provide lifetime memories.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know all those involved with Engage! Cleveland and contributing to our mission of helping young professionals fall in love with Cleveland.
