Cleveland’s we are hosting our Professional Development Week presented by Ashland University MBA Programs taking place November 5 – November 9. It is a chance for Engage! Cleveland to help young professionals fulfill their personal and professional goal-oriented aspirations. Fourteen workshops are dedicated to young professionals in Cleveland who want to learn and/or advance their skillset while also networking with peers, professionals and leaders in the workplace.

Some workshops to look forward to are:

Leadership Style Assessment, featuring Dr. Jamie Smith, President of Pixel Leadership Group

This event is for the young professional looking to understand more of what his or her leadership style is like. Once you register, you’ll be sent a link to take a quiz about your leadership style. At the workshop, Dr. Smith will take a deep dive into each leadership style and how to work and interact with all styles.

Mentoring & Sponsorship, featuring Margaret Ludwig, Property & Casualty Practice Leader for USI Insurance Services

Do you know why mentorship and sponsorship is important? If not, that is okay because you will find out at this workshop. Ludwig will discuss the differences and importance of both, how to develop a meaningful mentorship relationship and ways to seek sponsorship from the C-suite to take your career to new heights.

How to Develop a Professional Development Plan, featuring Latoya Smith, Fifth Third Bank

Whether it’s a new assignment, promotion or transfer, change is needed to grow and develop in the workplace. At this workshop, Smith will discuss the content of a professional development plan, why it is importance for your career, how to create one and crafting the business case to make the ask.

Power, Influence & Business Presence, featuring Pat Perry, Chairman of ERC

Your business presence is personal because it’s a reflection of you. This workshop with Perry will teach you about business professionalism in attire, communication and personal power to get what you want. You’ll also learn how to define success, how failure equals success, how to make the most of your days and much more.

Samantha Meisenburg graduated from Kent State University with a Public Relations degree this past May. She was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to the west side of Cleveland when she was three-years-old. While attending Kent State, Samantha studied abroad in Florence, Italy for four months where she got to explore many cities in Italy and travel to ten different countries in Europe. In her free time, she loves to travel, hike, read, try new restaurants, go to sporting events and concerts, and spend quality time with friends and family. Samantha has a dream to one day work and live in New York City. As a recent college graduate, she wanted to work for Engage! Cleveland to help other young professionals network and show them why Cleveland is a great city.
