2016 Engage! Cleveland Recap

2016 Engage! Cleveland Recap

As we approach the holiday season, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that has happened in 2016. And boy what a year it has been not only for Engage! Cleveland, but also for the city of Cleveland.

ClevelandIt seems that over the course of a few months, Cleveland went from being just another dot on a map to being known as “the city”. Our city is walking away from 2016 with three champions (Cavs, Monsters and Stipe Miocic), a successful RNC, and a trip to the World Series. Not to mention all the positive media stories, economic growth and amazing development that also happened. Public Square’s renovations, the completion of the inner belt bridge, and other physical development aided in this great ride.

At Engage! Cleveland, we have always known that Cleveland is an amazing city and our mission is to make young professionals (YPs) fall in love with the CLE. When we got started with this work a few years ago, there was a different story being told about Cleveland. We are happy to do our part in changing that narrative. We are honored to work in such an uplifting city and we are grateful to partner with so many outstanding organizations to achieve our mission. In 2016, we hosted or partnered on 60 different events to showcase our beloved home. Our amazing partners included including the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, KeyBank, the Greater Cleveland Caucus, Cleveland Magazine, and so many more.

This year was all about growth and giving YPs the opportunity to experience all that Cleveland has to offer.

YP WeekThe event that really captures this is our annual Cleveland Young Professionals Week. In just one week, EC engaged over 2,100 young professionals at 31 events across the Cleveland area. The events ranged from early morning workout classes to lunchtime speakers and unique networking events every day of the week.

This year’s YP Week was all made possible by our 101 sponsors and partners, including our presenting sponsor, KeyBank. Not only did the week allow us to better connect YPs to Cleveland, but we were also able to showcase all of the things we love about our city.

All of this work would not be possible without the support of our Board Members, Committee Members, volunteers, sponsors, partners and you! Thank you for your continued support of EC and our mission to attract, retain and engage YPs to this amazing city we all call home.

We can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store!
